Dr. James Apronti
Dr. James Apronti describes himself as a practical theologian and a person-centered clinician whose journey has crossed theology, organizational development, mental and spiritual health counseling, spiritual, public service, and community leadership.
His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, a Master of Arts in Organizational Development, a Master of Science in Community Mental Health Counseling, and a Doctor of Ministry Religious and Family Educational Ministries.
His spiritual journey eventually led him to investigate the experiences of people who considered themselves spiritual but no longer felt represented by traditional religious institutions. His doctoral dissertation, Identifying the Spiritual Needs Among Millennial Religious Nones, became one of the foundations upon which SpiritQuest Initiative is built.
Dr. Apronti has also trained in Clinical Pastoral Education at Emory University Hospital, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Westchester Medical Center. He later worked with Georgia’s Department of Family and Children Services as Child Protective Services (CPS) Case Manager. He briefly served in the U.S. Navy after which he trained as community mental-health counselor.
Today, his experiences across spirituality, counseling, and community development inform the vision of SpiritQuest initiative Inc. He is called to offer global spiritual leadership to a growing number of people (Religious Nones) who are looking for a spiritual home.
